    What is Ecstatic Dance?

An Ecstatic Dance session is not a dance class, nor is it based on any specific dance technique. It is the creation of a space of freedom and awareness, where you can express yourself through your body and dance with a common thread: music. It is characterized by the absence of goals or fixed structures, apart from the DJ’s improvisation, which encourages both the dance and the relationships with other participants to emerge spontaneously, making this space a great source of creativity.

Ecstatic Dance has very clear guidelines:

    • No verbal communication.
    • Dance barefoot.
    • Respect the space—both the environment (room, dance floor, etc.) and the personal space of others.
    • No drugs or alcohol.
    • No mobile phones or cameras.

An Ecstatic Dance session begins with an opening circle, where the guidelines and flow of the session are explained, followed by a brief warm-up or group dynamics. The session itself lasts approximately two hours. At the end, all participants gather again in a closing circle to complete the experience.

It is a setting for joy and enjoyment without the drawbacks often associated with nightclubs, such as restrictive schedules, overcrowding, smoke, alcohol, or drugs. Ecstatic Dance is an experience recommended for all types of people, as it requires no prior dance experience or technical knowledge.
